The Godfather (1972)

The Godfather is regarded as one of the best movies of all time. It is ranked in the second place of top 250 movies ever behind Shawshank Redemption in IMDB.com. People seems to like it from its classic and the acting of all the actors in the movie, the dialogue and the song of the movie.  The mafia theme is quite unique on the time of 1972 so the movie gained a lot of popularity from a lot of people. 

The story begins as, tThe Godfather "Don" Vito Corleone is the head of the Corleone mafia family in New York.  He attended to his daughter's wedding in which his youngest son, Micheal attended too. Micheal seems to not interestest in his dad's business at all. One day, a rival family wants to sell drugs and needs Don's power to make it successful. Don refused to help them and it leads to a war between the families. Don passed away from his sickness. Micheal had to become a new boss of the family.

From my perspective, the movie is quite boring because the movie runs with very slow pace. The plot is not interested me at all and maybe that the film is too old for me to enjoy it. The only thing I really enjoy about this movie is its music choice.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Some movies are action, some movies are romance, some movies are drama or some movies are the comedy, but Forrest Gump is all in one. The movie contains almost everything inside like an expensive delicious soup. 

It is a story of a man named Forrest Gump. The story is about events in his life since when he was a very young until when he has a kid. Forrest Gump suffered from wearing braces on his legs to gain a football scholarship, save soldiers life in Vietnam war or even became a professional Ping pong player and had a chance to meet the president of United States. The movie also includes some dramatic and romance of Forrest Gump's love life in it.

There are many good quotes in the movies such as, "life is a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get" or "I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is." Forrest Gump is not a smart guy, when he was young, a doctor told his mom that he has IQ lower than average person although his mom taught him to not give up and believes in himself. Forrest Gump once said, "my mama says that stupid is as stupid does."  Forrest believes that one should not distinguish stupid people from their IQ but from their actions instead.

The Forrest Gump is a movie that worth to watch it more than two times. It is a movie in which for every age and for everyone. The movie has everything inside in which that if you ask other people on why do they like this movie, you might get all difference answers.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Have you ever judge a movie by just it's cover. A movie with bad cover might make you feel like not to watch it. The first time when I saw the cover of The Shawshank Redemption, I thought that the movie must be very boring. And I bet that many people think that this movie must be boring as well by just judging the cover of the movie.I looked up on Wikipedia and I found that the movie earned quite a little money compare to its budget: $58 million to $25 million.  I checked the ranking of the top 250 movies of all time by IMDB.com and The Shawshank Redemption comes as number one best movie of all time. I was very surprised and decided to watch it.

 The Shawshank Redemption is a story narrated by Ellis Boyd (Morgan Freeman) which is Andy Dufresne( Tim Robbins)'s best friend. The story is started in 1947, Portland, Maine, Andy Dufresne is convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover although he didn't really commit the crime.  He is sentenced to two life sentences. The film portrayed on the life of Andy Dufresne in the prison.The film presents many morals such as to never lose hope or never give up.

There are many good quotes throughout the movie. Andy once told Ellis "Get busy living or get busy dying". Andy tried to tell Ellis to not lose any hope in the prison.  Andy once also say that " Hope is a good thing. Maybe even the best of things and good things never die." One of my favorite line in the movie is " It's funny. On the outside, I was an honest man. Straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook."  

The best scene in this movie is the ending. Andy had proved to Ellis that hope is the best thing in life and as long as you don't lose your faith, anything good can happen.  The director made the viewers surprised by Andy's plans and actions.

Andy escaped the prison by spending 20 years using tiny rock hammer digging a hole on the wall. It shows that Andy planned from the very first day of his life in prison that he will escape out. He never loses faith and never gives up.
